Who Are We?

Hope Takes Flight Inc. was started by Tucker McKay.  He wanted to combine his passion for flying with his love for animals and helping others.  Tucker, a Family Nurse Practitioner by day, chased a childhood dream and attained his private pilot license in 2024. He continues to fly on a regular basis to build his time and skills.

After helping deliver food and supplies to various communities in the wake of Hurricane Helene, Tucker connected with several groups that had a need to get animals quickly transported to a forever home.  Many of these animals were facing euthanasia or destined to live out life in less than ideal situations.  Our non-profit organization is dedicated to bridging the gap between abandoned pets and loving families. Based in Concord, NC, we collaborate with local rescue organizations to provide free air transport services for animals in need, ensuring they experience a safe and stress-free journey to their new homes. Together, we're transforming lives, one flight at a time.
